Whether it be to pursue elite competition goals or just for fun, fitness and friendships, the "WATKINS ACADEMY OF IRISH DANCE" caters for it all.
Classes are offered for Beginners through to Championship level at all of our locations. Free trial lessons are offered to all new Beginners. The Watkins Academy caters for both solo and team competition, exams, performance and also for those just wanting to try their hand (and feet!) at Irish dance. Our school has two fully qualified teachers, registered with CLRG (Ireland) and the Australian Irish Dancing Association and boasts more than 30 years of teaching. Our dancers have won many World medals plus State and National Titles in both solos and teams, have performed in many top Irish dance shows all over the globe (including dancing alongside Michael Flatley himself) and our professional performance troupe is a popular performer all over the country. 2025 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS
We are excited to announce that we will be taking a team to the 2025 World Championships in Dublin! It has long been a dream to not only represent Queensland and Australia on the World stage in solos, but to also field teams at the prestigious event.
In 2020, our dream was taken away by COVID only weeks before we were due to leave and after two years of committed training.
Training is underway in earnest as our 2025 World Championship Squad prepares to take on the best Irish dancers in the world!
